A second Ghost will spawn in another thirty seconds, and a third thirty seconds after that. Once you venture inside, your PDA will comment on an “ecological deadzone”, and an adult Ghost Leviathan will spawn nearby. This is the “out-of-bounds” area, which marks the end of the playable map. This location is the Void, or the World’s Edge if you prefer. Ghost Leviathans can also be encountered in another place, but it’s one you shouldn’t be venturing into anyway. Like the Reapers, Ghosts can be relocated if they chase you into a different biome, though they should make their way home eventually. They can be found in two biomes within the Crater, with two in the Grand Reef and one in the Northwest Blood Kelp Zone. Even worse, they are much, much quieter than the Reapers, so you’re liable to receive a very nasty surprise visit if one spots you from a distance.Īdult Ghost Leviathans, thankfully, are quite few in number. Ghost Leviathans are almost twice the size of Reapers, deal 84 damage per hit, and are hyper-aggressive. You’ll encounter the adult Ghost Leviathans soon enough, and these deepsea specters are a force of nature indeed. If the juveniles gave you the impression that Ghost Leviathans were pushovers, you’re about to have a rude awakening. Sustained attacks from the Reaper will destroy both of these vehicles, so you’ll need to quickly decide whether to fight or flee. A Prawn Suit and Cyclops are able to take a lot more punishment, but you’ll still want to deal with the threat quickly. They can also seriously damage the Seamoth, with each bite taking off roughly 50% of its durability. Without any upgraded defenses, Reapers can deal 80 damage to the player, with an insta-kill animation if you are at 80 health or below. Reapers can be a terrifying sight and sound to behold, and they’ve got a severe bite to back up that bark. Relocated Reapers should return home soon after abandoning a chase, however. ![]() Reapers can also drift in and out of biomes if given a reason to, such as spotting a nearby diver. Reapers are most densely populated in the Aurora’s Crash Zone, the Dunes, and the Mountains, though there are also a couple in the Bulb Zone. In addition to the ones near the Aurora, there are a total of 25 Reapers in Subnautica. Just remember, if you can hear them, they can see you. One lurks near the ship’s stern and one near the bow, and you’ll probably be well-acquainted with both before long. The first Reapers you’re likely to see, or more accurately hear, are the ones patrolling the murky waters near the Aurora. These sea scourges lurk all over the Crater, being present in a good portion of Subnautica’s biomes. The Reaper needs no introduction, likely being the first aggressive Leviathan you will encounter. It is possible a fire could occur, so I recommend bringing the fire suppression module which isn't too hard to get.With the passive Leviathans out of the way, it’s on to the main attractions. You'll get the Cyclops damaged, however once you get to a safe area you can easily repair it. Mainly, for the Lost River one, be aware of it's position and I recommend running if it goes near you. ![]() If you want, I heard there were also Ion Power Cells late game which give you 1000 fuel per Ion Cell. With that amount of extra Power Cells, power barely become a problem. Be aware of it's position.Īlso, in Crater's Edge, get away from the area then they will stop pursuing you.Īlso, if power is a problem I recommend bringing extra Power Cells onboard, I have around 15 extra ones stored in a wall locker. I don't think they try to constantly pursue you, so you can also try to just swim away from them. Also, Ghost Leviathans don't seem to be as aggressive as other enemies. You can use silent running with the cyclops.įor the one in the Lost River, try to use silent running, and if they still attack you use the shield. Those ones aren't hard to deal with, from what I've seen they stay mainly at the bottom. Also my cyclops has a damaged piece at 0% that i cannot repair, is this normal and if so is it permanent For the ones in the Grand Reef, just be careful to stay away from them. Just curious what you guys think the optimal way of getting around, dealing with the ghost leviathans. Went back to the surface to make the shield upgrade, however now my second time down nearly got my clops trapped down there as the shield takes so much energy I nearly didnt get it back to the surface and still had to take a hit or two on the way out. however nearly lost my whole cyclops to the ghost leviathan guarding the entranes even running on silent mode going slow rotor speed.
